Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
