Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
