Performer Rejects Anti-Vaccine Position Following Voicing Controversial Coronavirus Documentary
The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that questions the efficacy of vaccines and praises former government figure RFK Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Foundation
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for assertions that Covid was linked to a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's collaborator, the executive producer, has also written books with controversial media personality a known commentator. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
A Firm Denial
A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have provided a statement strongly denying implications that he holds anti-immunization sentiments.
"We all acknowledge that corruption can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson has never been, and remains not, against vaccines. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
The response added that the actor did not shape the documentary's messaging and that questions about its content are best addressed to the producers.
Central Themes Within the Documentary
According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson features several provocative claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to government bodies.
- It argues that "research has become deeply politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
- The narration takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Context and Ongoing Issues
The film also references a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a BBC apology by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.
Last month, RFK Jr called on the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the World Health Organisation stating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Record of Advocacy
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has formerly shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
