The Division Makes Its Way to the Tabletop Gaming World as a Deeply Strategic Tabletop Role-Playing Game
The gritty world of Tom Clancy’s The Division will be adapted into a dice-based role-playing experience. A partnership has been formed to create a TTRPG set within the franchise’s post-pandemic setting. This initiative was revealed, with a crowdfunding campaign scheduled to begin in April of 2026.
"This project aims to deliver the series' unique suspense, strategic depth, and memorable setting to the table, providing fans a new way to experience The Division through deep narrative and player-driven missions," states an official release.
Launch products will include a beginner's box, essential manuals, a Game Master screen, figurines, and various deluxe editions.
Exploring The Division's Apocalyptic World
In this universe, a lethal pathogen called Green Poison was unleashed in NYC, sending the United States into turmoil. As the pandemic escalates, civil order breaks down and violent factions rise, turning the urban landscape into a warzone. To restore order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a secret cell of sleeper agents. This is where the players enter the story.
Work on the RPG has been in progress for about three years, and it is reportedly complete. The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will serve as a pre-launch sales platform to reach a broader audience, particularly in the United States. Manufacturing will start right after the fundraiser, with shipping projected for later in 2026.
An Innovative Tactical System: The GRIS System
An early look at the game's rules confirms it employs 10-sided dice predominantly through its new GRIS system, promoting a streamlined and tactical approach. Agents leverage abilities to assemble small dice pools, usually from one to five d10s.
- Instead of summing the total, players choose a single “resolution die” from the group.
- This dice is then measured against a target difficulty.
- Rolling a natural 10 triggers special effects, such as extra damage or enhanced aid.
Engagements Focus On Tactical Placement and Situational Insight
Battles prioritize positioning and environmental awareness, reflecting the video games. Elements like taking cover, height advantage, or line of sight have a direct impact success chances. This system is designed to favor coordination and clever tactics instead of raw numbers.
A Novel Health System
The way injuries is tracked adds a compelling narrative layer. Operatives have a wound threshold; taking heavy hits weakens their capabilities by decreasing the number of d10s.
- At critical condition, an agent collapses, but is not knocked out.
- They can still crawl and take limited actions, emulating the last stand seen in many shooter games.
- Any agent in this state must consult a trauma table, potentially gaining persistent effects like shock or crippling injuries.

In this mission, the group spearhead the hunt for a missing medical team and work to stop an attack by the violent Rikers faction, who have taken over that Manhattan district. More specifics and the complete product lineup will be unveiled closer to the Kickstarter start date.
