To make the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g fine sugar
To make the Cocktail (yields 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Directions
To prepare the Citrus Syrup: Put all the ingredients inside a saucepan, bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve. After that, turn off the burner and leave to reach room temperature fully. Pour into a sealable bottle, cap it keeping it in the fridge, where it will keep for around one month.
To make Cocktail Base: Pour every spirits and syrup in a large bottle, let it rest for an hour, then strain best through cheesecloth, so it's fully clarified.
When ready to serve: Add 85ml of the premix to a mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate gently for one minute to chill. Strain into a frosted cocktail glass or similar, decorate with the cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
